The Mission

TheRosarium.org is a Catholic Web site whose sole mission is to transmit the faith to new generations by announcing the Gospel and to bring new updates to Catholics around the world. TheRosarium.org supports the Magisterium in the new approach of evangelization.

New Approach to Evangelization

TheRosarium.org use web technology as a new method for evangelization. These includes delivering information in the form of online multimedia and mobile communication. There is a live Mass in audio and video available according to the schedules. A brief Catechism, spiritual reflections, top world news frequently updated are available in multimedia format.

The Rosarium by definition
By definition, the "rosarium" is a latin word which literally means "of roses" when used as an objective, i.e. a modifier. If the context is of a location the translation becomes such that you find phrases like a "garden of roses" or "room of roses". When rosarium is referring to an object you can find references to a "garland of roses", "circle of roses" or "crown of roses". In the Concise Dictionary the series of beads used in counting these prayers. [ < ML rosarium rose garden]. The "rosary" is derived from the latin word "rosarium".

Paragraph n. 12 of the Apostolic Letter of the Supreme Pontiff Pope John Paull II Rosarium Virginis Mariae (The Rosary of the Virgin Mary) in particular is entitled: The Rosary, a contemplative prayer. However, the Rosary is already described in the Introduction as "a path of contemplation", and "a most effective means of fostering among the faithful that commitment to the contemplation of the Christian mystery which I have proposed in the Novo Millennio ineunte, as a genuine 'training in holiness'" (n. 5).
